What you need to know
This Scheme is open to small businesses, sports clubs, community and voluntary organisations who are unable to secure flood insurance and have been affected by flooding in County Cork during the period 4th – 6th October 2024.
The scheme is to help you put right the damage caused by the flood and help get you back up and running as quickly as possible. It allows for the replacement of flooring, fixtures and fittings and damaged stock, where relevant. The scheme will not provide a contribution to cover the loss of earnings or loss of business goodwill.
The Irish Red Cross will administer and make payments under the Scheme. We are ready to act fast.
This financial support will have two stages:
- The first stage will provide a contribution of up to €5,000, depending on the scale of damage incurred. It is expected that this will meet the needs of the majority of those affected. The intention is to process payments as fast as possible.
- If a premises has incurred significant damages above €5,000, organisations can apply for more financial support of up to €15,000. This will require an assessment by the Irish Red Cross. The total level of support available for both stages combined is capped at €20,000.
